Making our travel more sustainable...

As part of everyone’s efforts to cut the amount of carbon dioxide we produce, schools are setting their own targets for reducing the number of school journeys made by car.

Walking, cycling or scooting to school contributes to the whole school physical activities policy. It also links to healthy schools, Eco School and sustainable schools

Initiatives such as:-

  • Walk once a Week (WOW)
  • Fit Fridays
  • Park and Stride
  • Pedometer challenge
  • Cycling training
  • Pedestrian training

can help to achieve these targets and can also be fun for every one.
